A SUNDAY postal delivery in the village of Finstall was discussed for the second time at Stoke Prior Parish Council. While much of the metropolis didn’t have any deliveries from Saturday night to Monday morning, surrounding villages, including Aston Fields, Stoke Prior, Hanbury and Blackwell, all had Sunday postmen which meant that the Finstall villagers were just asking to be considered equally with them.

TWO men were killed and three others injured after a car overturned on a bend in the road from Rubery to Lydiate Ash at Chadwich. The accident was the worst motor vehicle tragedy ever encountered in Bromsgrove at the time and there were calls to check the safety of the road at the S-bend by Spring Pools. The car had been attempting to take a sharp bend when it skidded and overturned, spilling its passengers onto the road. One man died at the scene and a second died en-route to hospital.
