AT Malvern Petty Sessions Charles Styche, of no fixed abode,waschargedwithbreaking and entering St Andrew’s Parish Church in Droitwich Spa stealing two keys and about 7s inmoneyfrom a box in the vestry. Money from the offertoryboxeshadbeenstored in the vestry and two halfcrowns and some small silver pieces and keys were stolen.

The prisoner was arrested on another charge and the keys and money were found on his person. Prisoner was committed for trial at next assizes.

THE Bromsgrove Fire Brigade gave an interesting display with their new steam fire engine. The brook having been dammed and the engine set, hose was laid to the parish church, a distance of 230 yards, in four minutes. A slight delay took place until steam could be raised, which took from 12 to 15 minutes, then pumping commenced and a one inch jet of water reached within 10 feet of the battlements.
