A LICENCE was applied for and granted to run motor coaches from Droitwich to Bromsgrove. The town had long suffered from its train station being a mile or more out of town and there were hopes that the service would put Bromsgrovebackonthemap, as ithad been in the coaching days. It was said that the town had suffered from the disproportionate cost of transporting goods toandfromthe railway station.

 AT Worcestershire Assizes, a Droitwich man was found not guilty of having carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16. Archibald Priddey a 17- year-old shoemaker, was charged with having carnal knowledge of Winifred Grace Bunn – who gave her age as 14.

She said she had only found out she was two years younger than she thought in the summer and that she had given birth to Priddey’s child in August. Prisoner was found not guilty and discharged.
