AT Bromsgrove Petty Sessions, Thomas Hurley, of Fairfield Road, Bournheath, was charged with driving a trap without a lighted lamp in Birmingham Road, The Whetty. The defendant said the lamp did not give a brilliant light and, as it was a moonlit night, he had not noticed that it had gone out. Hurley was fined 1s and 7s 6d costs.

à A CONCERT was given by the children of the Baptist Sunday School in aid of school funds. The number who attended the concert was described as very encouraging, while the music programme was exhaustive.

à THE Stoke Works Post Office had been broken into. Although nothing from the Post Office was taken Miss Hope, who lived at the premises, had a quantity of bacon, a cake and £5 stolen from her residence.
