A BROMSGROVE charity shop has been reopened after a revamp.

The Young Men’s Christian Association's (YMCA) shop, at the Bromsgrove Retail Park in Birmingham Road, has appointed a new manager, Karen Harding.

Karen wanted to continue the good work at the shop and give it a new look.

One of the shop's customers heard about the project, and offered to buy wallpaper.

Volunteers then got to work putting up the paper and painting to give the store a cleaner and homely feeling.

The new-look store was opened by Councillor John Ruck, Bromsgrove District Council's civic head, on Friday, (August 29).

The store raises money for the charity's work including providing accommodation for young people to stay, offering training schemes, and engaging youngsters in local projects.

The shop is welcoming donations of quality furniture, bric-a-brac and electrical items.

It also offers a free collection service operating across Bromsgrove. For more details call 01527 558058.
