GARDENERS in Droitwich will be able to have more of their garden waste removed after Wychavon District Council extended its garden waste service in oversubscribed areas around the town.
Almost 13,000 were already being collected fortnightly across Wychavon, removing everything from grass cuttings, and hedge and shrub cuttings, to leaves, twigs, bark, plants, weeds, cut flowers and windfall fruit.
However the service was more popular than anticipated and had been oversubscribed.
Sharon Casswell, Client Services Manager at Wychavon said “The garden waste service is well liked by residents and we were keen to expand the capacity of the rounds so that more residents could take full advantage of the service. It is very popular though, so we advise if residents are interested they get in touch with us quickly, as its first come, first served.”
To apply for a garden waste bin at £43 to be delivered in November ready for autumn, visit wychavon.gov.uk/expression-of-interest or call 01386 565005.
