WYRE Forest groups and organisations are putting decorated Christmas trees on display as part of their festive message.

The trees, which will be on display at Holy Innocent’s Church, Kidderminster, on Saturday, December 6, have all been decorated with a message about what people in that particular group do.

Age UK Wyre Forest, The Alzheimer’s Society, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, Safer Wyre Forest, West Mercia Police and Wyre Forest District Council are not only decorating trees, but will be available on the day to offer advice on keeping safe.

Aylmer Lodge Surgery and Northumberland House Surgery, KD21 Scouts, Foley Park and Sutton Park community Schools are also decorating trees, along with Together We Involve Gardening Services (TWIGS), a organisation which provides opportunities to people with learning and physical disabilities to take part in a gardening and horticultural project.

Other organisations, shops, and groups which meet in the church, including Weightwatchers, Worcestershire Wildlife, Classical Musical Society, Kemp Hospice and Kidderminster Horticultural Society, will also have decorated trees on display.

The church is displaying a Baptism tree – which will feature the name of each child baptised this year, a Wedding tree, a prayer tree and a Nativity tree.

Heather Prangley, member of Holy Innocents’ Church, said: “The church will look like a forest when it’s full of the trees.

“There will also be plenty of information available from the outside agencies that will be present to offer help and advice."

The event, which runs from 10am until noon, is free to enter and will include activities for children as well as coffee in the hall.
