MUMS-to-be can join a new ante-natal fitness class which has been launched in Oldbury this month.

Pregnant women are invited to keep themselves fit and healthy by attending weekly sessions run by a qualified female ante natal fitness instructor.

They cost £4.70 each and are being held every Friday from 10.30am until 11.30am at Portway Lifestyle Centre, Newbury Lane.

Classes feature light cardio exercise as well as exercises including squats, knee lifts, calf raises and pelvic floor exercises for expectant mothers from 12 weeks up until the birth.

Site fitness co-ordinator Kev Daly said: “According to the NHS, the more active and fit you are during pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain. It will also help you to cope with labour and get back into shape after the birth.

“Our fun and friendly classes are also a great way to meet other expectant mothers.”
