A KIDDERMINSTER theatre company is celebrating after receiving a £300 donation from the GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund.

Wheely Different Theatre Company is a group of adults with disabilities who get together to act, sing and dance. The group was set up in April 2013 and now has around 30 people who take part in all aspects of the show from performing to helping with script and prop making.

The actors are currently working towards the next show in April which is a modern day take on ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Tickets for the performance are available from Kidderminster Town Hall.

Samantha Leake, fundraising chairman for the theatre company, said: “As a wheelchair user myself, I found the group invaluable in building my confidence.

“This donation from the GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund will enable us to purchase some new costumes, props and equipment from the show in April.”

GALAXY Hot Chocolate is looking to help small, local community groups and charities across the UK and Ireland by donating cash awards to support warm hearted people and projects.

Michelle Frost, spokesman for GALAXY Hot Chocolate, said: “We know that across the UK and Ireland smaller charities and groups struggle to make ends meet despite the efforts of a huge number of warm hearted volunteers.

“The GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund aims to give them a helping hand and hopefully inspire more people to get involved with local community groups.”
