MEMBERS of the Somerleyton Women’s Institute distributed toy ducks, which they had knitted, for the Little Yellow Duck Project.
They met on Thursday, January 22 at Starbucks in Weaver’s Wharf to sell the little toy ducks to support the project.
The project was created by Emma Harris, in memory of her friend, who was mad about little yellow rubber ducks and lost her life in 2013, waiting for an organ donor.
The event, was continuing the national WI resolution, passed last year, to encourage people to discuss with their families their wishes regarding donating organs after death.
The group distributed nearly 30 ducks to receptive customers, several of whom had experiences with organ donations.
