TOMORROW will see Lido Park in Droitwich Spa come to life with a burst of colour, and all for a good cause.

The Go Bright for Sight Colour Run, a 5km run to raise money for the charity Sight Concern, will see participants start off dressed in white, before running past five different paint stations.

By the time the competitors finish the course they will be covered in an array of brightly coloured paint, all while raising money for the charity.

The run is due to begin at 10am, and any visually impaired runners who want to take part, will be matched up by the charity with a sighted guide.

Fiona Blake, Fundraising Manager for Sight Concern, said: “This really is a multi-coloured jamboree, and we’re delighted that so many people are showing their support.

“We’re also grateful to our increasing number of sponsors – First Solution and Novus Solutions are the latest to come on board, joining Fortis Living and Modus Creative. Everyone in the town has made us feel so welcome and it’s exciting for Sight Concern to be part of the Droitwich Summer Festival.” The event will kick off with a 20 minute warm-up session provided by the Rivers.

Sharon Keen, marketing manager for Wychavon Leisure added: “This event is great fun for all the family to take part in and Rivers are proud to be hosting the warm up session prior to the 5k event in the scenic park.”

After the event everyone is also invited to visit Victoria Square where they can have a go at the different arts activities on offer as part of the Droitwich Summer Festival.
