A COMMUNITY fun day held at a Kidderminster primary school aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of loan sharks raised more than £100.
Birchen Coppice Primary School held the day, which featured children’s entertainers, face painters and a bucking bronco and will use the funds raised to improve their playgrounds.
But the event, held in partnership with Wyre Forest Community Housing Group and the district council, was also aimed at highlighting the dangers of loan sharks and promoting money management schemes available to people who need them.
Kay Butler, Birchen Coppice Primary School Head teacher, said: “It’s hideous what loan sharks can do and partnerships with authorities that aim to teach children and parents how to avoid these criminals are invaluable to our local community. I want to thank everyone involved in making it such exciting day."
Event co-ordinator, Helen Zinzan, Digital and Financial Inclusion Coordinator, Vestia Community Trust which is part of The Community Housing Group, said: “We were so thrilled with the turnout and the response from a leaflet drop we did to local homes.”
