A QUARRY Bank motorcyclist who died after colliding with a minibus in Mid-Wales has been named.

Nigel Thompson died at the scene of the crash on the A489 in Powys on Sunday morning. The 49-year-old’s family said they will “sincerely miss him”.

Katy Simmons, Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman, said: “At approximately 8.50am on Sunday, August 2, Dyfed Powys Police attended a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A489 in Powys between Kerry and Sarn.

“One was a motorcycle that was ridden by Mr Thompson and the other vehicle was a minibus with three persons on board.

“Tragically Mr Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The three people on board the mini bus were not injured but taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

“The road remained closed throughout the day whilst specialist officers’ conducted a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the collision.”
