POLICE are investigating a robbery in a Woodrow estate.

The incident happened at the junction of Woodrow South and Grafton Close at 1.30am this morning, (August 26).

The victims, a man in his 30s and a teenage boy, entered the Woodrow estate near to the Jolly Farmer pub.

They were approached by a group of five to six men who asked for their property. The group of men punched and kicked the victims. Both sustained slight injuries and the older man was treated at Alexandra Hospital.

During the attack the older man's wallet was stolen.

The suspects were dressed in dark clothing and wearing face coverings. They left the scene on foot in the direction of Woodrow First School.

The incident is possibly linked to an earlier incident in Studley in which a group of men, with their faces covered, were spotted attempting to break into cars.

Detective Sergeant Mark Wilding said: "We are doing all we can to trace the suspects in this frightening attack.

"We would urge anyone who may have been in the Redditch or Studley areas at around 1am to 2am this morning, and who may have seen anything suspicious, to contact police."
