WOLVES fanatics have been offered the chance of playing against some of the club's former stars at a family fun day.

Brierley Hill-based solicitors Higgs and Sons are setting up a team to take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers All Stars side, kicking off at 2.30pm on Sunday September 20 at Stourbridge Football Club.

To help raise money for the company's chosen charity for the year - the Alzheimer's Society - places in the Higgs select side were available to the highest bidders.

A total of 22 places were up for grabs in the Higgs, with the winning bidders getting the chance to play a minimum of 35 minutes against their footballing heroes.

The Wolves side will include former favourites such as Mel Eves and Jody Craddock, with the match forming part of a family fun day at the football club.

Apart from the game, entertainment will be on offer between noon and 6.30pm, including crafts, face painting, bouncy castle, tombola, cakes and an array of exotic animals.

Last year Higgs took on Aston Villa All Stars and raised more than £4,000 - a target they are hoping to beat this time.

Admission costs £5 per adult, including a match day programme, while under 16's can get in for free.
