WYRE Forest MP Mark Garnier recently took time out of his busy schedule to spend time talking to older people in the area.

Mr Garnier attended an Age UK Wyre Forest lunch club at the Tulip Tree Centre in Kidderminster for people over 50, on Tuesday, September 22.

He enjoyed a two-course lunch and was able to chat with older people and hear about their concerns in the area.

Mr Garnier said: “It was a great pleasure to join members of our local community for lunch at the Tulip Tree Centre, in Kidderminster.

“It is important to remember regular events like this are for some people their only opportunity of getting out and socialising which is vitally important.

“Age UK provide a range of services and help for our growing elderly population and is a charity which I am delighted to support both locally and nationally as an Age UK Champion.”

The Wyre Forest lunch club operates on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and serves more than 120 meals a week. All the products are purchased locally, mostly from local suppliers and meals provided are cooked on the premises.

The lunch club also provides social activities and events throughout the year.
