THERE’S piratical fun to be had over half term week at Avoncroft Museum with an indoor Treasure Island set up to entertain the children.
The desert island is taking over the New Guesten Hall to be sure of more tropical temperatures, and will include a sandy beach for youngsters to play on, a bouncy castle, and a variety of pirate-themed craft activities.
For pirates brave enough to venture out into the February chill, there is also a prize treasure trail around the museum grounds, where people can explore a number of the museum buildings and the national telephone kiosk collection
The miniature train will also be running from 11am until 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday, for a small additional charge.
Places for the treasure island should be booked in advance on 01527 831363 where people can choose a morning session from 11am to 1pm, or an afternoon session from 1.30 to 3.30pm.
Normal museum admission charges apply, and there is an additional charge of £3 per child to take part in the activities in New Guesten Hall. For more information visit
