GENEROUS workers from four Black Country food stores have helped transform a Dudley charity's meeting room.
A dozen staff members from the Sedgley, Kingswinford, Tipton and Tividale branches of MidCounties Co-operative stripped, decorated and furnished the upper story room at White House Cancer Support's Ednam Road HQ, which is used for training, conferences and meetings.
The team spent five months transforming the room as part of the company's Community Group activities.
Lee Brown, the Sedgley store manager, said they had chosen the charity as it was "a very worthwhile cause" and "such an important group for people with cancer in the Black Country".
He continued: "During our time on site we have met quite a few of the volunteers and staff and it’s so lovely to hear about the work they do, not just on the doorstep but across the area."
Caroline Webb, the cancer charity's manager, said: “I’d like to say a massive thanks to the MidCounties Co-operative team for their generosity.
"We are so pleased with all the changes Lee and his team have made, it really has transformed the room and we are very much looking forward to using it for meetings."
