FRIENDS of Quarry Bank Park are calling on fellow green-fingered residents who would like to have their say on how the local green space operates.

The park’s friends group is holding its annual general meeting on Tuesday, May 31, and are inviting those with an interest in nature, history or serving their community to attend.

The meeting is set to take place at 7pm in the Old Park Keepers House which is based in the park’s grounds.

Mary Sparks, group secretary, said: “Quarry Bank Park has undergone major improvements over the last ten years, and has ambitious plans for a total refurbishment of the Old Park Keepers House, which in the past was known as Tintern House, and has possible links to the historic Tintern Abbey, in Ireland.

“Anyone with an interest in parks, conservation, nature, history or serving their community would no doubt enjoy being part of the friends group and we are actively looking for new members.”
