A GROUP of cyclists will pedal their way more than 100 miles to raise money for a good cause.

The group, regulars at The Fleece pub in Evesham Road, Crabbs Cross, are gearing up to cycle 110 miles with the aim of raising at least £5,000 for Molly Olly's Wishes - a charity that helps children with life-threatening and terminal illnesses.

Jason Simmons, from Oakenshaw, who is organising the cycle ride, said: "We did a similar bike ride last year as a thank you to Birmingham Children's Hospital, which looked after my son when he needed treatment.

"And we decided to do another this year but are giving the proceeds to Molly Olly's charity this time."

The group will set off from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire on May 28 and plan to spend two days cycling along the canal towpaths to Redditch.

Last year the group raised a total of £9,000 which was donated to the children's hospital's neurology and neurosurgery department and the foetal medicine department at Birmingham Women's Hospital.
