THIS half term the Museum of Carpet is packed full of hands-on things to do, telling the story of how Kidderminster’s carpets came to dominate the globe.
Young visitors can watch the giant power looms as they weave carpet, before their eyes. They can also have a go at hand loom weaving and try their hand at designing their own carpet.
The museum is also running a week-long programme of activities on the theme of Ingenious Engineering. Visitors can take part in the Straw Rocket Challenge, or discover the wonders of water mechanics when you build your own water wheel.
And if that’s not enough, you can take part in the Float-a-Boat challenge which will test whether you can create a boat that will float from materials given.
Each day during half-term there will be two different activities taking place between 11am and 4pm.
