THE inquest into the death of a Netherton man has been opened and adjourned.

Simon Peter Johnson, a father of two, was found dead at his Cradley Road home on August 11.

Yesterday’s hearing at the Black Country Coroners Court, Oldbury, was told that a concerned friend had gone to Mr Johnson’s home after he had failed to show up for work at Black Country Glazing, Cradley Heath.

He found Mr Johnson’s body at the top of the stairs.

The inquest heard that a post-mortem examination revealed the 41-year-old window fitter had died from stab wounds to the chest.

Four teenagers who that were arrested in connection with Mr Johnson’s death have been bailed until October 17.

Zafar Siddique, senior coroner for the Black Country, said that in light of the ongoing police investigation, he would adjourn the inquest until Monday, November 28, at noon.
