PROSPECTIVE students are being sought for a free training scheme at a Redditch design and manufacturing company.

Heartbeat UK, a design and manufacturing company specialising in retail display innovation, is starting a brand new16-week programme at its Training Academy providing experience in the manufacturing, engineering and carpentry and joinery trades to people aged 16 to 24.

The programme, which will run from its Lakeside site, has 10 places still available and will begin on Monday, January 9.

The course received a match-funded grant from Worcestershire County Council's Local Enterprise Partnership.

It will cover engineering training, warehouse training, production training, carpentry and joinery training and design drawing training and there will be progression opportunities and full apprenticeships available in the company.

Since its launch in 2015, the academy has held secure more than 70 per cent of its students full time jobs within the engineering and manufacturing sectors in the local area.

No experience is needed and full training is provided.
