A SEDGLEY author with a trilogy of horror books under his belt will be inspiring aspiring writers at the Wolverhampton Literature Festival.

Colin Hopson, whose pen name is Colin Martin, has been fascinated by the supernatural since childhood and his avid interest in horror films led to repetitive dreams about demons.

His dreams led to him putting pen to paper to write his first novel, Dream Master and it wasn't long until he added two more books to the series - Rain Maker and Dream Daughters.

Describing the trilogy, he said: "They are three individual stories which are all related, using a method of the black arts to invoke evil and control it to enhance survival, gain fortune, revenge and power."

The 47-year-old, who works part-time as a library support assistant at the University of Wolverhampton's Learning Centre, said he was looking forward to being part of the city's literature festival, which runs from January 27-29.

He will deliver a one-hour presentation about his journey so far at Wolverhampton Art Gallery in Lichfield Street at 1.30pm on Sunday, January 29.

"The festival gives me a great chance to present to the public what influenced me to write, how my journey as an author began, and how my passion to write keeps me focused and spurs me on," he said.

"I'm sure, like myself, there's a lot of unrecognised talent out there. Through my experience, to write and publish a novel takes the three d's... dedication, determination and discipline."

Colin's novels are available to buy on Amazon and people will also have the chance to buy signed copies after his festival presentation.
