THREE friends from Stourport are to 'sleep in' at Worcester Cathedral to raise awareness and money for homeless charities.
Barbara Northall, Sarah Brookes and Mat Betton will take part in the challenge overnight on Saturday (January 28) to help raise funds for Maggs Day Centre and St Paul's Hostel.
Barbara said: "It's an evening 'sleep in' at Worcester Cathedral to raise funds for two charities.
"We just thought lets go do that - it's going to be different and it's going to be cold. All we allowed to take with us is a roll matt and a sleeping bag.
"It was a spur of the moment decision to take part. My son has been homeless - he wasn't sleeping on the streets, but I understand the plight those people have."
She added: "We are really looking forward to it - it might be a bit creepy in there, but quite interesting."
The Maggs Day Centre supports the homeless and vulnerable in Worcester city centre and surrounding areas by providing shelter, food, washing facilities and support for service users. While, St Paul's Hostel - also based in Worcester - provides accommodation for the single homeless.
