KIDDERMINSTER councillor Shazu Miah has said he was shocked and saddened by the events at Westminster yesterday (March 22).

Four people died during the incident yesterday (March 22) when a car was driven into pedestrians before crashing into railings at the Palace of Westminster.

A policeman was stabbed to death before the attacker was shot dead by armed officers.

Liberal Democrat councillor Shazu Miah said: "As a British Muslim, I totally condemn the atrocity carried out on Wednesday.

"The religion of Islam teaches us to be tolerant and peaceful and therefore these acts have no place in Islam.

"My heartfelt condolences, prayers and thoughts go out to the family who have lost loved ones and those who have suffered injury."

Cllr Miah added: "The Muslim community in Kidderminster pays tribute to the police whose bravery stopped further casualties and especially to PC Keith Palmer who sadly lost his life to protect others."
