WILD rambles, water vole walks, a self-guided trail, bug hunting and a wild passport will all help to kick-start a wild April for Bromsgrove residents.

Staff and volunteers from Worcestershire Wildlife Trust will be running a series of events from April 3-9 in a series of activities intended to help local people celebrate local wildlife.

Hannah Thomas, engagement officer for the Trust who is co-ordinating the week, said: “Worcestershire has some fantastic wildlife and wild places - and Bromsgrove is no exception.

“The Battlefield Brook in Sanders Park, for example, is one of just two places in Worcestershire where water voles can be found.

“To help residents and visitors to Bromsgrove understand a little more about their fantastic wildlife, there will be a trail through the town, focusing on wildlife gardening, and a wild passport to some of Bromsgrove’s wildlife.

“It’s not just within the town, either. We own and manage some beautiful nature reserves in the Bromsgrove area so will be encouraging people to book onto one of our guided walks or visits to find out more about them.”

As well as public events and activities, the week is also encouraging children and current Trust members to become more inspired by the district’s local wildlife.
