SIDEMOOR Preschool has turned it around in its latest Ofsted inspection, after being rated 'inadequate' last year.

In November 2016, inspectors were concerned that vulnerable children were not 'consistently protected from harm' and that staff did not always recognise 'possible signs of abuse or neglect', branding the school with the worst possible Ofsted result.

But the Pear Tree Children's Centre preschool has now been rated 'good' - two grades up from the last result - in Ofsted's latest report, following a surprise inspection on February 16.

Inspectors were impressed with the staff's relationship with children and their families, and found children to be 'settled, happy and content'.

Teachers were praised for their 'broad and exciting curriculum' and the centre was found to be 'bright, welcoming and stimulating'.

Manager of Sidemoor Preschool Toni Cooke said: "We are very pleased with the good grading and the preschool will be celebrating with a spring fair on Saturday, April 22."

The celebrations will include children's games, an egg hunt and Easter bonnet parade.
