A 56-year-old man was rescued from his house after a kitchen fire in Bromsgrove.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service sent one crew from Bromsgrove and two from Droitwich to the incident on Fox Lane at 2.51pm on Monday, June 26.

The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet and a safety jet, while the homeowner was treated on the scene by a paramedic officer and rapid response vehicle.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “He was walking about on arrival and is now absolutely fine. He was checked over and discharged on the scene.”
