BIKERS are being invited to rev their engines and join a Redditch couple in raising money for a charity close to their hearts.

A charity motorcycle ride and fundraiser is being held on Saturday, August 12, with all proceeds going towards the Fight Bladder Cancer charity.

The event has been set up by bikers Allen Morris, 46, and his 35-year-old partner Sam Clarke, of Winyates East in Redditch, in support of Allen’s mom Pauline Carr.

Pauline, 63, was diagnosed with bladder cancer last year and had her bladder removed last October, and is thankfully on her way back to full health.

The ride begins at Birmingham and Solihull Rugby Club on Forshaw Heath Lane in Portway at 10am, with riders encouraged to meet at 8am.

The route leads through Morton on the Marsh, Fossway Garden Centre, Stratford Upon Avon, Bidford Upon Avon, and back to the rugby club by 1pm.

Riders and visitors can also enjoy live music from bands and a DJ, face painting and bouncy castles for children, snack vans, a licenced bar, plus a raffle.

Raffle prizes include a hair cut from Toni and Guy stylist Steve Hurley, meals at the Golden Goose Carvery and the Duck Inn, and t-shirts from The Boring Old Farts MCC.

The event, which has been organised alongside Redditch motorcycle group Speed Freakz, costs £5 per bike to ride and £5 per car for people to join the post-ride entertainment.

Allen Morris said: “You don’t need to register just turn up and have fun.”
