REDDITCH runners are being invited to lace up for the Go Bright for Sight 5k Colour Run, which returns for a third time at Arrow Valley Country Park.

Starting off dressed in white, participants can run, jog, walk, or dance their way through the paint stations, to ensure they reach the finish line covered in paint and smiles.

The event, which is being held on Sunday, September 10, raises cash for local sight loss charity Sight Concern Worcestershire.

Charity fundraising manager Fiona Blake said: “We have such wonderful memories from last year, we can’t wait to set about painting even more people red, blue, green and purple as they pass through our paint stations en route!”

The colour run is open to all ages, and anyone with a visual impairment is also welcome as the charity will be recruiting sighted guides to enable them to participate.

Local firms have also backed the run this year – including Hayward Wright Accountancy, Specsavers Redditch and Modus – by sponsoring the paint stations.

Southco and Midland Plumbing Supplies will sponsor the t-shirts and race arch.

Money raised will enable the charity to offer advice, information, support, skills training and social and leisure activities, for people affected by sight loss.

Entry fees, which include the paint stations, entertainment and a pair of neon sunglasses, are £13 for adults, £7.50 for children, and £8.50 for students.

A family ticket is £33 and children three and under can enter for free.

The entry fee helps towards the cost of putting on the event, and all participants are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship as possible.

To enter, visit sightconcern.co.uk/colour-run or call 01905 332 902. Tickets must be booked in advance.
