A BEWDLEY artist is celebrating after raising enough cash to bring home the bear she designed for the Big Sleuth.

Betti Moretti launched a Crowdfunder appeal to help her raise funds to buy the bear at an auction last week to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The Big Sleuth Bears went under the hammer last Thursday (October 12) and Betti managed to win her bear, Bear It In Mindfulness, for £1,650 - all donated to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

In total, £257,300 was raised for the hospital through the Big Sleuth auction.

Betti is now hoping to bring the bear back to Bewdley soon and host a special VIP unveiling night in the town.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

She said: "I am on cloud nine!

"We won him for £1,650, all of which goes to Birmingham Children's Hospital - and we couldn't have done it without the generosity of so many people, whether they pledged, supported, cheered on or helped out behind the scenes.

"The bear will probably spend a month or so in St George's Hall cafe, and then go on a tour of Bewdley's schools, shops, the library, medical centre etc.

"Once he's finished gallivanting, we will site him somewhere permanently in Bewdley to be enjoyed - for years to come hopefully.

"I can't wait to introduce the cheeky chappy to Bewdley's residents and visitors, and then sit back and watch smiles on faces when they meet him for the first time."
