AN emotional appeal has been launched to reunite a Barnt Green man with his late wife’s wedding ring, which went missing just a week after she lost her battle with dementia.

Janet Kennedy sadly died at Havencroft Care Home in Alvechurch on November 19, at the age of 69.

Her husband, Danny, took comfort from wearing her wedding ring but is thought to have lost it just over a week later on November 28, outside Tesco in Barnt Green.

Danny posted an appeal to find the missing ring in Tesco’s window, offering a £50 reward, and an appeal posted on Facebook has also been shared more than 3,500 times.

Daughter Sam Boswell said: “My dad took some comfort from wearing her wedding ring since she passed and would constantly twiddle and fiddle with the ring.

“Sadly one twiddle too many and he is gutted to have lost the ring.

“He is fairly sure it happened at Tesco cash point in Barnt Green.

“The ring is a plain gold wedding band that mum never removed and is very precious to our family and particularly my dad.”

The ring is a 22ct plain gold wedding band with no markings, and will appear to look like new as the family had it polished and adjusted for Danny to wear.
