IF you’re looking for something different this Bank Holiday, the Transport Museum at Wythall could be the place for you.

Monday sees the annual gathering of the Model Bus Federation with displays of intricately detailed models, many built from scratch.

Museum trustee Dave Taylor said: “Model building for many enthusiasts is a work of art.

"Many of the dioramas on show have taken years of patience to build and give a fascinating insight into the skills of the Federation members who travel to Wythall annually from all over the country to show off their handywork.”

In addition to the models on show, the museum will be running its miniature railway giving rides throughout the day and full-size buses from the museums collection will be running frequent bus services.

The museum, which is just off the M42 J3 near Becketts Farm, is open on this Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday from 10.30am to 5pm, with the model buses on show on Monday.
