REDDITCH Operatic Society is on the lookout for two girls to share the principal role of Susan in the group's 2018 production of White Christmas.

After a sell-out production of Sister Act last year, the company will be performing the Irving Berlin classic from November 20 to 24 at the Palace Theatre, with rehearsals starting mid-June and running until November.

Much like in the 1954 film starring Bing Crosby, Susan is the granddaughter of retired army general, Henry Waverly, and lives with him in his Vermont inn.

She is smart, kind and confident, but never cocky, and is devoted to her grandfather, but worries about his failing business.

The group is after two youngsters, with a playing age of 12 to 14 years (actual age can be older), to share the role of Susan, taking on three of the six performances each. Previous experience is not necessary but applicants should be confident performers with a strong singing voice and be able to move well.

Auditions take place from 1.30pm on Sunday, June 10 at Astwood Bank Primary School.

All interested parties should book their audition slots in advance, no later than June 8.
