A 47-YEAR-OLD man who assaulted his estranged wife has been hit in the pocket by magistrates.
Duncan Giles of Minety, nr Malmesbury was found guilty of assaulting Laura Giles in Ebrington near Chipping Campden on January 28.
Cheltenham magistrates also convicted him of damaging the driver's window of a Hyundai Accent motor car belonging to Paul Tury on the same occasion.
Giles was fined a total of £300, ordered to pay compensation to Mr Tury of £75 and prosecution costs of £620.
He was also made the subject of a restraining order not to contact his estranged wife until January 2019.
