COTSWOLD District Council will soon be carrying out a rolling programme of conversion work on all its Pay and Display machines to ensure that they will no longer accept old £1 coins.
Presently they accept both but once work begins on Monday October 9 and machines have been converted they will display a sign stating ‘no old £1 coins accepted.’
More generally, residents are being urged to spend their old pound coins before they cease to be legal tender on Sunday October 15.
