STAFF at Cotswold District Council decided to get into the swing of things for Children In Need with some bake-tastic and other fund raising events.

Last year employees at the council contributed over £1,000 to the national BBC campaign, and they are aiming to raise a similar total this time around.

The highlight of the day was the Trinity Road ‘Bake Off’ competition which tested the cake and savoury making skills of those with a flair for baking.

After much deliberation, executive PA Marie Whiteman and CDC head of paid service Nigel Adams presented the coveted star baker award to print and design service manager Wendy Nicholls who created an orange cake.

They also decided that the star savoury award should go to business partner accountant Louise Thomas who wowed everyone with her Cotswold pasties.

After the event, staff tucked into all the competition cakes and savouries which were sold off to raise money for Children in Need.

In other activity, several teams will be participating in a series of Children In Need-themed office Olympics events (no sporting prowess required) later today, and they will also be enjoying a lunch time quiz next Monday.
