HEARTLESS thieves are being implored to do the right thing – and return a stolen scooter to a seriously-ill Quarry Bank man.

Terry Price was shopping at Asda Netherton in Saltwells Road for just a matter of minutes when his ‘pride and joy’ Honda C90 scooter was stolen four weeks ago.

Mr Price has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and his niece Sharlene Nunn says the theft of his much-loved vehicle has left her 59-year-old uncle heartbroken.

She added: “The bike had already been stolen seven months ago and recovered – he’s only just finished getting it all fixed up and got the bike back on the road again.

“He’s had the bike approximately three or four years and it is his pride and joy.

“After a week of being in hospital for tests and scans, he popped into Asda for a few bits and pieces – he was in there literally two minutes when he came out to his beloved bike being stolen.

“This has had a devastating effect on him. He’s heartbroken. All he’s asking for is for his scooter to be returned.

“If only those who took the bike took a minute to think of the effects these stupid things they do have on their victims. All I ask is for people to have compassion and get him his bike back.”

The thieves are believed to have headed in the direction of Lister Road after taking the bike between 4.30-4.40pm on April 23.

Mr Price’s family are offering a cash reward for the return of the bike but anyone with information about the theft can call police on 101 and quote reference number 20DY/89919N/18.
