A group of Droitwich Spa High School Sixth Form Students who plan to run and walk around the school’s 400 metre sports track in relay, non-stop, for 24 hours as part of a weekend of entertainment and exercise in support of St Richards Hospice are looking for more people to come and take part.

St Richards, based in Worcester, cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with life-limiting illnesses. However, they rely very heavily on donations to provide this care, which is where the students come in.

Thomas Dean, Beth Martin, Charlotte Burford, Helen Reohorn and Sam Butterfield, who are all in Year 12, are encouraging people to come along on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9

to donate to the cause but also to support them in their extraordinary physical effort.

Sixth Form student Tom Dean said: ‘As well as offering support and giving money, we still have space for more teams to enter.  We have three at the moment but would love to see more people get involved in what will be a hard, but very rewarding weekend.

"On Saturday there will be a bouncy slide, tombola, food and refreshments, archery, mini races, games and live music so it should be a lot of fun for all ages.  It will be a brilliant way to raise money for a brilliant cause.’

St Richards Relay will be start at 12 noon on Saturday, July 8 and finish at 12noon on Sunday July 9. There is a designated overnight camping area for participants to pitch their tents.
