A MAN has died after being found in a Kidderminster shopping centre multi-storey car park. 

West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the car park in the Swan Centre, in Blackwell Street at around 7.15pm on Thursday evening (October 19).

The man was taken to hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Police received a call around 7.13pm last night (Thursday, 19 October) by a member of the public, following concerns for the welfare of a man in a car park in the Swan Centre on Blackwell Street, Kidderminster.

"Police and ambulance service attended the scene where a man required immediate medical attention.

"He was taken by land ambulance to Worcester Royal Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

"Next of kin have been informed.

"Formal identification has not yet taken place."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a cardiac arrest on the ground floor of the Swan Centre’s car park, in Blackwell Street.

"Upon arrival, police were performing CPR on a man. Crews took over resuscitation attempts, delivering five defibrillator shocks to the man's heart.

"They managed to restart his heart on scene, but his condition quickly deteriorated so they transferred him quickly to Worcestershire Royal Hospital on blue lights - CPR continued en-route.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a community first responder and the West Midlands CARE team medics attended."
