The SUN shone on Cherry Orchard First School, Pershore as students past and present came together to celebrate the school’s 50th year.
Opened by Pershore’s Mayor, Chris Parsons, the celebrations began with the children running a mile each around the school’s new running track.
The students took on the challenge with enthusiasm despite the heat and were awarded a medal by the mayor of Pershore for their efforts.
Visitors enjoyed refreshments, activities, inflatables and games to play and a range of prizes at the fayre to win.
A spokesman said@ "The PTA has been hard at work raising money for the school and celebrating this special year.
"As well as enjoying its own half-century, the school also won best float at Pershore Carnival last month, an event that was also celebrating its 50th anniversary.
"And, there is lots more to come with more events coming up in this special year – including the school’s summer play being held at Number 8."
