THE deputy manager of a Bromsgrove care home will attend a reception for dedicated frontline nurses at Buckingham Palace.

Faye Upton, from St John's Court, received the invite earlier this month, and will join Princes Charles on March 14 to celebrate the brilliant work of nurses across the UK.

Faye said: "I was extremely shocked to have received the invitation to Buckingham Palace to celebrate frontline nursing, after being nominated.

"I am proud to be a nurse and extremely proud to be working with an enthusiastic, caring team who are dedicated in ensuring we deliver outstanding care.

"Overall I am overwhelmed by the comments I have received and I just hope I can continue my career being able to guide others and give the best nursing care I can."

St John's Court manager Laura Wilkes added: "We are so thrilled that the work Faye has done for nursing, and that her guidance to others has been recognised with such a fantastic opportunity to attend this reception in celebration of the brilliant work the nurses in the United Kingdom undertake day in and day out.

"We are proud that Faye will be representing St John’s Court as she is a fantastic nurse with high standards who supports the nursing team and guides them to be able to support individuals with the best possible nursing care we can offer."
