ARTRIX is launching a new volunteers scheme this April, offering youngsters the chance to gain experience in stage management and technology, catering, box office sales, programming and ushering.

The Young Volunteers Scheme aims to equip people aged 16 to 25 with a range of arts-based work experience, while also improving the way in which Artrix engages with local youngsters.

Duty manager and volunteer coordinator Sarah Benfield said: "As well as providing insight and work experience, we also hope to create a community of young people dedicated to shaping how Artrix interacts with, involves, and supports young people in Bromsgrove.

"We hope that Artrix Young Volunteers will have an enjoyable and rewarding experience and will be proud to represent Artrix."

Artrix's young volunteers will form a steering group, meeting monthly to help influence the way the centre reaches young audiences and supports young artists.

The group will also organise and produce an event aimed at fellow young people, using skills gained while on the scheme.

Volunteers will work alongside Artrix staff and attend monthly reviews and staff tutorials to help them progress and reach individual targets.

Applications are now open. Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of four shifts per month.
