A 43-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after another man was stabbed in Catshill last night (Monday).

Police were called to Woodrow Lane, near to Epsom Road, at around 5.15pm to a report of a disorder.

Armed officers, police dogs and paramedics attended the scene, where a 34-year-old man had suffered a stab wound and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Another man suffered injuries to his face.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the police to reports of an assault at 5.20pm yesterday to Woodrow Lane, Catshill.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene and treated a man who had suffered a facial injury. He was given treatment on scene before being taken to hospital."

A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody.

West Mercia Police is now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information which may assist detectives should call police on 101, quoting incident 539s of May 21."
