POLICE seized a large amount of class B drugs and cash after a drugs bust in a city road.

Officers made the discovery after executing the drugs warrant at a property in Mill Street, in Diglis, on Wednesday morning.

A substantial amount of class B controlled substances, cash notes, as well as a cannabis grow were seized.

A man in his 40s from Worcester is currently assisting officers with their investigations.

Inspector Tanya Beckett of West Mercia Police, said: "This warrant is an example of how we are dedicated to taking positive action on tackling drugs supply in our community.

"Intelligence from members of the public is vital in allowing us to gather information that can lead to successful warrants and I urge anyone with information or any suspicions about drugs related activity in your community to call West Mercia Police."

Worcester SNTs tweeted a picture of the drugs and cash seized, writing "You said, we did.

"Drugs warrant executed, positive result #drug #seized."

The drugs raid is the latest successful raid of recent months, including three in Droitwich in just 10 days last month.

In one, on the Westland estate, class A drugs were found.

Also last month a chainsaw was used to get entry into a suspected drug-den in Rodborough Drive, Warndon, during a pre-dawn swoop.

Many of the city’s dealers are suspected of having links to gangs using established supply lines to bring drugs into the county from elsewhere.

Operation Blade, which launched in September, is a project to push back the cross-border gangs.

Anyone with information on drug related activity can call police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
