FLYFORD Pippins Pre-School relocated during the summer holidays, and is now nestled within the gates of Flyford Flavell First School.

Welcoming children from the age of 2, Flyford Pippins offers care from 7.30am until 5.45pm.

Children can enjoy a kick-start to the day with a healthy breakfast, followed by supervised and guided play until school starts properly at 9.

The pre-School can now take advantage of the resources and facilities which the First School has.

“We’re already enjoying many benefits of being here,” said Julie Chorley, pre-school manager.

“We have a huge play area to ourselves when indoors.

"We can explore forest school at any time, share the equipment of the reception class at designated times and take advantage of all of the outdoor play apparatus whenever we like.

"Just this week we were able to join with the reception class for an extremely exciting visit from a paramedic, complete with ambulance, blue lights and sirens.

“The move has a great many advantages for the school too,” says Mrs Brotherton, headteacher at Flyford Flavell First School.

“Children from Pippins will be used to the reception classroom and to having lunch and playing with the older children before they start school, so their transition from pre-school to reception will be seamless, making their learning more effective, more quickly.”
