A COMMUNITY group in Kidderminster has been given a welcome boost after benefitting from two charity donations.

Community Action Wyre Forest (CAWF) has received a total of £750 to support its arts and crafts project, which will enable it to run in Kidderminster and Stourbridge.

The Freemason’s Old Carolian Lodge handed CAWF £500 while a further £250 came from the St Georges Church Group morning coffee group.

John Ledson, from CAWF, said: “The Project teaches people how to make their own art journals, expand their creativity and imagination, as well as providing a safe place for them to make new friends with similar interests.

“We run small friendly group and welcome people from all walks of life interested in expressing themselves through art and crafts.

“We have now been supported in this project by two very welcome and kind donations from local Kidderminster charities.”

Mr Ledson added they will be joined in the project by Worcestershire social firm Community Support Initiatives, having received a grant of £500 from the Philip Bates Trust.
