DINERS will be able to say bonjour to a new £1million French restaurant this week when it opens its doors in Kidderminster this week.

Bistrot Pierre’s newest restaurant will open in the Riverside Walk retail and leisure development, on the site of the former Brintons Carpets HQ next to Weaver’s Wharf, on Friday (June 30).

More than 50 new jobs have been created and staff have been busy training and preparing for the grand opening.

The new restaurant will serve a range of French dishes, using locally sourced ingredients, and bosses say it will cater for everyone.

New general manager Jessica Smith said they have already received a warm welcome to the town, with people already booking tables for upcoming weeks.

The 26-year-old, who has worked for the company for five years at restaurants in Harrowgate and Torquay, said: “We are all really excited to be here.

“I have been speaking to people in the town who have been so lovely and friendly. Many have said that there isn’t a restaurant like this for them to go to so they are looking forward to us opening.

“When people have a look inside, they are completely bowled over by it. Bistrot Pierre create beautiful restaurants which all have their own unique character and we believe ours is elegant and classy.

“Staff have been coming in for training and they are all so energetic, enthusiastic and looking forward to getting started. It was important for us to employ local people too.

“And as well as giving people in the area something fresh, I’m hoping it will bring more people into Kidderminster too.

“I really can’t wait for our restaurant to open and people can see what we are about for themselves. It’s extremely exciting for us all.”
