KEEN Kidderminster gardeners are busy preparing for their popular annual two day show.

Kidderminster Horticultural Society will be hosting the event, incorporating a country fair and craft tent, on the grounds of the Mercure Hotel near Bewdley on Saturday and Sunday of September 9 and 10.

It will be open from 10am to 5pm both days with the official opening taking place at 12noon on the Saturday by BBC TV and radio presenter Michael Collie.

This will be the 63rd annual show, which will also feature a host of stalls and activities for the people of all ages.

These include displays of archery where people can have a go, displays of old agricultural tools, walking stick carving, chain saw carving, chair repairing, hurdle weaving, trade stands, old and new cars and other vehicles on show.

There will also be plant and bulb sales, gardener’s question time, dancing displays, dog agility, a blacksmith, train rides, children’s games and a bouncy castle, pottery demonstrations, alpaca and owl displays and live music on both days.

A food tent will be selling a cup of tea and slices of home-made cake, an all-day barbecue, freshly made sandwiches and ploughman’s lunches. A sale of produce will take place on the Sunday at 5.15.pm by auction.

Entry is £3 which children under 16 allowed in for free. There is also free parking.
